We can all fall

This set is based around the idea of the calmness of mind. The feeling of surrender we feel, and find in one another when we allow ourselves to let our personal facades fall to the side. The openness and stillness of the setting allows for reflection and personal excavation between the two models. They surrender themselves and by doing so allow themselves to truly share a moment with one another.

Two lovers, interwoven and interconnected. In the first set of images, they are surrounded by green fields, a light clearness fills the air and at that moment nothing can be wrong. Despite having endless space they cling to one another, as if understanding the fleetingness of the moment and the importance it therefore holds. In the second setting however, the lovers are surrounded by an eroding and corrosive environment. As they are consumed by the chaos around them they hold onto one another for dear life as if at any moment they will be ripped away from one another. Through this turmoil they seem to find stillness, comforted in the existence of one another. Despite the two environments being complete opposites of one another, they care for and cherish one another the same. Regardless of any bliss and abundance, or pain and tribulations they may be experiencing, their love stays the same. Raising the question of which is their true reality. The reality they each share is not dictated by the promised land or endless purgatory they find themselves in. Their truths are in the moments they share together, for as long as they are bound, they each are one another’s only reality.

The theme of this shoot was allowing oneself to live in the world created for them. In the same vein as Frank Oceans song “super rich kids”, we see the model enjoying himself alone around the outside of a large property, which is his home. Clearly familiar and able to cope with the solitude that comes with being well off. Seemingly removed from personal responsible of ones current circumstances and willfully carefree.
